Mohamed Eljarh is Director of Political and Security Risk at Libya Desk, and serves as the Regional Manager for CRCM North Africa in Libya.  

 

Eljarh is a leading Libyan affairs expert with over 10 years of experience researching and analysing Libya’s transition post-2011. His expertise proves invaluable to the provision of concise and informative analysis of developments in Libya.

 

He has extensive research and Think Tank experience through his work and collaborations with internationally renowned Think Tanks such as the Atlantic Council; Washington Institute; Danish Institute for International Studies; Stockholm International Peace Research Institute; Institute of Higher National Defense Studies (IHEDN); Near East South Asia Center for Strategic Studies at the National Defense University in the United States; the Royal Institute of International Affairs at Chatham House, and the Russian International Affairs Council.

 

He combines this extensive research experience with practice in policy and research consulting for governmental and non-governmental sectors such as the Libyan Mission to the European Union, the United Kingdom Special Envoy to Libya, the United Nations Support Mission to Libya, and Small Arms Survey among others.

 

Furthermore, he has extensive hands-on research experience by leading or helping manage various research and assessment projects in Libya. He has acted as a researcher, senior analyst, or lead researcher for various projects in Libya. Throughout his career, Eljarh published hundreds of analysis and comment articles, two book chapters and authored or co-authored various in-depth Think Tank reports and policy briefs on the situation in Libya and the MENA region more widely.

 

Also, Eljarh has vast media experience, his work appeared in the New York Times, Foreign Policy Magazine, World Politics Review, The National among others. He is a frequent expert commentator on Libyan Affairs for International, regional, and local media outlets including CNN, BBC, Sky News, ABC, Aljazeera, Alarabiya, and TRT World among others.

 

He currently hosts his own show Almieyar on Libyan TV channels and social media. Eljarh is also an invited expert participant and speaker at regional and international conferences on regional and international issues. He was a member of the Multilateralism Working Group for the G20 summit for the year 2020.
