Fadeel Mohamed Lamen
Fadeel Lamen is currently the Director General of the National Economic and Social Development Board (NESDB) in Libya, a policy and development research think tank for the Libyan government. The NESDB, based in Tripoli, was established in 2008 in order to help reform the Libyan state.
Mr. Lamen has been an independent member of the UN led Political Dialogue for Libya and worked as the coordinator of the independent member. He helped shape and signed the Libyan Political Agreement (LPA) in Dec. 2015 that ended the 2014 civil war and was approved by the UNSC Resolution.
Mr. Lamen chaired the National Dialogue Commission in Libya and served as non-resident fellow, Rafik Hariri Centre for the Middle East. He has also served as a special advisor on Middle East and North Africa affairs in Washington D.C. He advised the Libyan Transitional government.
He has been working on issues of democratic transition in the Middle East with particular focus on Libya. His research and writings focusing on Middle East and US foreign policy has been published in Arabic and English by major intentional media outlets and intentional think tanks.
